Trek Recalls 49,000 Girls Bikes

The recalled product is the Trek MT220 girls bicycles model years 2005, 2006 and 2007. The model name is printed on the frame of the bicycle. Model year 2008 bicycles are not included in the recall. The bikes, manufactured in China and Taiwan, were sold for about $300 at authorized Trek dealers nationwide from April 2004 through June 2007, CBS station WFOR-TV in Miami reports. A second Christian ministry is refusing to meet a Thursday deadline for a Senate investigation into preachers' salaries, perks and travel, The Associated Press has learned. Benny Hinn of World Healing Center Church Inc. and Benny Hinn Ministries of Grapevine, Texas, said in a statement to the AP on Thursday that he will not respond to the inquiry until next year. A lawyer for preacher Creflo Dollar of World Changers Church International in suburban Atlanta had said Wednesday that the investigation should be referred to the IRS or the Senate panel should get a subpoena for the documents. SGPC again expands itself

The SGPC today promoted five employees as assistant secretaries and two as additional secretaries, making the mini parliament of the Sikhs top-heavy.

Avtar Singh today issued the promotion orders, which were his first order after becoming SGPC president for the third consecutive year. Interestingly, the SGPC had four full-fledged secretaries against one post during the tenure of Gurcharn Singh Tohra, who reigned the SGPC for 27 years. With the new promotions, the number of assistant secretaries and additional secretaries has risen to 15 and eight, respectively.

Though the SGPC chief has claimed that the promotions will not put any additional burden on the exchequer of the SGPC, insiders say the newly promoted employees will be entitled to use the additional facilities like telephone, official vehicle etc.

Men's Fitness magazine ranks OKC among fattest cities

Oklahoma City residents appear to be getting fatter. A fitness survey of the 50 largest cities in the nation conducted by Men's Fitness magazine and released Monday shows Oklahoma City has moved up seven spots in the 2008 survey to No. 8 on the magazine's list of the ten fattest cities. .
