| Your Comments : FDB ends loan deal
We, further this IG or future Government should investigate ALL “kilavata loans" liberally given during the Qarase and Kaloumaira era. Not that these two fine gentlemen personally colluded in some of these dubious loans, but Political pressures asserted to the FDB Board by successive Governments have to be revisited!! Especially, unsecured “dravata loans" guaranteed by Alliance MPs, certain NFP MPs, FLP MPs, Lawyers, Senior members of the Judiciary, Church Leaders, Fijian Holdings and NLTB Trust Department!! Most loans deemed high risk at Commercial Banks are normally receiving a welcoming ceremony at FDB. May be check all interest of former and present FDB Board members, immediate family and friends. We say, FDB like it's pioneer baby should primarily lend on the Agri Financing and other development of other Natural resources.
Uno, dos, tango
It's every male wallflower's dream: walk into a hall of beautiful people, choose the woman you would like as a partner, nod confidently in her direction, and watch as she meets you on the dance floor. One caveat: In this country, when you take her hand you had better know how to tango. With the goal of understanding my fascination with the dance and maybe learning a few steps, I introduce myself to Edith Paez, a tango instructor in Buenos Aires. "It's OK to be a beginner in an all-level class?" I ask. "No problem," she says. "Good, because this is my first tango lesson." Her face drops. "Suerte!" Paez quips, exhibiting some Argentine pluck. Good luck. My obsession with the dance began in Paris where, weather permitting, a tango group meets a few times a week in an amphitheater on the banks of the Seine.
Sammamish mountain-bike plan gets cash
After years of pushing for a mountain-bike "skills park" on the Sammamish Plateau, the Backcountry Bicycle Trails Club got a $150,000 boost from King County to move forward with its plans, county officials announced Wednesday. The club signed an agreement to work with the county on developing the 120-acre project at Duthie Hill Park, a swath of second-growth conifers and deciduous trees that is underused, county officials say. The course will feature a cross-country loop, dirt jumps and downhill runs with drops, said Jon Kennedy, volunteer director of the Seattle-based trails club. The park is connected to King County's nearby Grand Ridge Park, which features a 6-mile mountain-bike trail. Design work on the course is scheduled to begin in February, with three public meetings planned for the spring.
'Christianity Is My Spiritual Home'
The more I studied, in the very kind of linear, fundamentalist way, the more I felt reverence leaking away from me. I never ever would have gone public with this, ever. A person who had been driving me at that time (because Ted and I shared a car) went on a website and said he had brought me to Christ. And it just spread like wildfire and became front page news. I was outed, and it was just a tremendous betrayal. I never would have [gone public with this] because it was too new. And then I discovered that it wasn't what I was-I thought, this is wrong for me. Did you stop going to Bible study? .
Vietnamese headgear is de rigeur
Hats off to the Vietnamese government [pardon the inverted pun] for passing a nationwide law that requires all motorcyclists to don helmets as of December 15. Half-hearted attempts have been made in the past to force the drivers of Vietnam's xe om – which translated roughly means transport-hug, so named because the passenger embraces the motorcycle driver from behind. But this time the government apparently means business, and legions of police have been deployed to slap on-the-spot fines on the offenders. I have my doubts whether the fines will make their way into government coffers. If the past is anything to go by, the money will disappear into the pockets of traffic cops, who whose peach colored uniforms belie their avarice. During my four years living in Vietnam I found Vietnamese police to be terrible bullies who tended to prey on the least fortunate, especially poor vendors from the countryside trying to eke out a living in the city.
Ritchie finishes final scene
It all becomes very clear as the story continues," she said. "We will revisit a lot of the history, in particular mine. "Knowing I'm leaving and that Sally's days are numbered on the show, it has been nice to tidy up a few things." Next year, Ritchie embarks on a new adventure, joining FM station Nova 96.9's breakfast crew with Merrick and Rosso .
